New Year, New Cheongsam, New Me - Part 1

Since the last Chinese New Year, we have been busy designing THE bridal cheongsam for many beautiful brides, matching the hairpieces to floral arrangements and meeting every friend on the brides' facebook account. Lets not forget, we are not only a bridal boutique, we make cheongsams for everybody( we even custom made matching dog cheongsam for a client ), as long as you like what we do and want to be part of it.

Keyhole Lace Mini with Lace Applique for Sherlyn

Mini cheongsams, or some may say "those tiny-Chinese-dress", have 1 of the cuts customers keep coming back to Mazzario for. Slowly we realise we seem to have many, many petite customers. Whether slim or small built, our mini cheongsam is particularly flattering on the petite ladies.

This particular cheongsam custom made for Sherlyn with a very cut in halter collar which delicately hangs over the neck, and plunges low at the back, and just enough front slit for allure and movement. A little black lace in a very graphic circular print off sets the angular cut of the cheongsam.

This cutting is particularly flattering for the apple body type as well as the athletic column body type.

Mystic Cheongsam With Hand Knotted Cords on Actual Wedding Day

Mystic Cheongsam has lived up to it's name since our first creation. The intricacy of the tedious handiwork of the cording as well as the visual impact has captivated the hearts of many modern edgy lady and bride to be alike.




Thank you Agnes for sending us your wonderful photos. The piece custom made for Agnes spots a different shape from the original to suit her figure. It has no side slits, and is tulip shaped to balance to winged tips of the cords.

If you have ever stared hard at your screen and tried to make out what the embossed pattern is made of, keep reading for the mystery to be revealed. Some of you who have visited us at our store at the Centrepoint might have caught us playing with large coils of straw-looking objects.



These are cords made from many very wide strips of Chinese silk brocade. They are them carefully twined to form the desired shapes—desirable shapes that accentuate desirable figure. They are then positioned and hand stitched to a completed cheongsam. The result is what you see, a captivating modern cheongsam that is unique and different from anything you have seen.

Simple White Elegant Cheongsam for Wedding & ROM

White cheongsams are gaining popularity these days. It is mostly favoured for solemnization and simple wedding day reception for the modern brides.

Simple but not without elegance, the intricately adorned opened standing mandarin collar piece shown here is a great example. A cut that can't get less complex, using as little seam as possible, leaving a very sleek appearance. Swarovski crystals sitting atop the lace applique provides just enough embellishment for the confident bride.

Lauren Lace Mini Cheongsam

'Tis the season to be jolly... What better than Lauren Lace Mini Cheongsam with it's dramatic lace on contrasting satin, to exude the opulence called for this season.

A simple silhouette with a a halter neck bareback, no slits for a even closer fit to highlight those legs.

Wedding Cheongsam—For Ariel

Grandmothers used to say, if you are young and pretty, you will look good even in rags.

While rags for weddings may be reserved only for the adventurous indie bride, Ariel chose to have a very simple cheongsam that allows her personality and natural beauty to shine through.

The opened mandarin collar melts seamlessly into the rest of the cheongsam, together with the narrow opening further accentuated Ariel's height and slender frame. There really is nothing much to say about this minimalist cheongsam except for the custom beaded embroidery adorning the collar, framing the happy face for one of the most important days of her life, yet.

Diamond Cheongsam Halter Version for Carol

The DIAMOND Cheongsam has long been one of the most sought-after designs not without it's reasons. The cutting, the colour combinations, and the demure front and surprise back view has very broad appeal.

Carol is lanky and has good upper body formation. No wonder she prefers a halter version, with lower neckline, fitted even tighter than the usual snug.

The thick embroidery lace hides a multitude of flaws, especially that below the waist. The tightness enhances the corset effect given by our signature cut and tailoring.

Colourful Cloud Cheongsam for Stacy

Tradition and fun are not words that usually comes together. They however, mix very well in The Colour Cloud Cheongsam custom made to Stacy's wedding. Adventurous Stacy wanted to have a traditional qipao or cheongsam from the start, because she can't think of a better time to check off her wish list, yet, she frowns at the idea of granny's wardrobe.





She took a daring plunge into the choice of a very colourful chinese brocade. We then decided to make full use of the wonder cloud prints. Combined with a traditional way of enclosure, collar to waist over the bust, but with a twist. We cut around the clouds at the opening and at the hemline, then layered them one upon another, and then painstakingly piped them using the tradition Chinese technique. The sleeves were also made in layers, to echo the idea of clouds, as well as slimming the arms.To finish, we used the only colour of the rainbow that does not already exist on the fabric together with shimmering gold for the cording details.

Honey Cheongsam Dress in Custom Colour

Here at Mazzario, we have long been reluctant to make flare cheongsams, especially the retro full-circle flare that many have asked for. Majority of our customers, being petite built, find it hard to carry off a cheongsam with so much fabric, fearing it may drown their already small stature. However, due to the continuous Mad Men fad, the 60s come back, we have added just one such style to our collection. Now, it is not uncommon for the flare cheongsam to becoming an alternative 2nd choice for our returning customer.

The Empire Cut Flare Cheongsam is also recommended for both pear-shaped body types and surprisingly the broad shoulder type.

The tea ceremoney mini cheongsam with a very high mandarin collar looks washed in delicate blush pink lace from top down, covering the collar and the bare back, gradually fading away towards the waist.
