Shoes for Cheongsam
Many of you have asked.
" What shoes do I wear with a cheongsam?"
It really doesn't matter so much whether it is close or open-toe, pointy or round. It is more important to match the style and colour. And most of all the shoes should match your feet and personality.
On the right is an obviously wrong example.
Left of left: Gold & Silver Glitter Platform Sandals
Adds miles to legs, perfect with mini cheongsams. The colour combination of gold & silver is a definite classic, goes well with warm or cool tone cheongsams.
Right of left: Gold & Black Sequined Corsage Sandals
The addition of black makes the pair of sandals a darker shade of gold. Feet appears fairer and cleaner. The pop up effect of the corsage also draws attention away from toes that are less than perfect.
Get regular foot scrub and mask regularly before your event. Finish off with a nail colour.
For a stunning cheongsam with complicated design or print, do a subtle nude or french pedi. For a sleek and simple cheongsam, try a red. Matching the tone to your dress, or you can even try a neon pink for a casual look.

Honey Dress (Cheongsam) Adapted
So many of your have asked... Our well received Honey Dress is now available in black with a silver brocade origami belt, and an adapted version as well.
The original cream beige honey dress is ideal for afternoon coctails or reception. Darkened a few shades, the black honey dress exudes a completely different aura. Great for semi formal dinner functions and even power lunch. As Love, Love Me Do Blog suggested, great as a bridesmaids dress too. Now that you are aquainted with our honey dress, do you really want to be in a ballet pink fluffy bridesmaids dress?
A Mazzario customer loves the dress, but finds it too dressy for her conservative work environment. We made the outstanding silhouette in a matte brown, instead of the flat front of the original, we have introduced light ruching at the waist, not only makes it more forgiving for 9 to 5 sitting, butalos exaggerated the hour glass shape.
Can be made in other colours and length. Visit us for more options.
Lace Bareback Mini Cheongsam
The lace mini cheongsam is a new hit for tea ceremony and dinner reception...
The slit is made lower than usual, making it more convenient for tea ceremony which this cheongsam is often purchased for.
The red lace mini cheongsam is a good choice for the Cantonese brides whose parents are still nagging at you for not wearing a Kwa ( which we do as well but that is another post ). Available in a shade of red for every skintone -- red crimson, vermilion, wine -- with gold embroidery. Being traditional doe not mean unfashionable.
Also in gold, champagne, and white. Additional beading can be done upon request.

Securing Your Cheongsam
Have trouble keeping your low bareback cheongsams in place? or even if it is, you just aren't used to baring so much.
Try either the Hollywood Fashion Tape or masking tape ( yes the one from art supply store) which one of our customers -- a beauty industry insider -- swears by.
For Halter ( or very cut-in cheongsams ), place the tape the the armhole, with the bust dart as centre, and secure to your skin while your body bends 45 degree.
For bareback, in addition to the above, also tape on either sides of the centre back zip, standing in an upright position.
Jump around a bit ( silly but that's a trade-off for security ) to make sure the cheongsam does not shift around. If it does, start again.

Knitted Rainbow Cheongsam
Quite contrary to what a cheongsam wearer should be, this very elastic and comfortable Knitted Rainbow Cheongsam is perfect for the active modern lady who wants the traditional cheongsam look without sacrificing the normal-day activities.
We recommend the Knitted Rainbow Cheongsam for casual friday, wedding reception, and a not so formal company dinner, or any Shanghai night themed party.
Inspired by the rainbow and the myriads of colours in a water droplet, the cheongsam comes in -- as the name suggests -- rainbow coloured. Fastened with exposed zip at the back, contrasting stitch. The zip comes in many bright colours. We love the yellow and fuschia, making it truly multi-coloured.

Mazzario Mentioned
Mazzario's cheongsams are mentioned on Chocolate's Style Diary on Stylehive. We must say she made some very good shopping decision to have bought two of the most popular dresses.
On the left is the empire halter mini cheongsam that Mazzario's customer can recognize in an instant. Here in neon green thick double trim and floral silk brocade. Appropriate as a tea dress for "chum cha" or Shanghai Night or just any i feel-like-modern-oriental-day.
On the right is the washable silk mini cheongsam, best for high tea or attending afternoon wedding reception. Can be worn over tights or jeans as a tunic for a more casual day out.

How to wear: Reversible Scarf
Many of you have purchased our popular reversible scarf to go with our cheongsams. Even after our 10 minutes of live demo, we still receive feedbacks on not remembering the available styles.
At Mazzario @ Centrepoint, we would show you 3 to 5 ways. But as we played around with it, we discovered more! And we are sharing with you here the many more ways of wearing it. Send us an email or write on our Facebook Page to tell us your new discoveries!

Imposter Alert
Several customers have kindly informed us of a competiting shop ' X ' at Far East Plaza which has been posing as Mazzario.
In one of the cases, a customer who did not know of our relocation asked shop X, and was told that X is Mazzario with a location and name change. Any regular customer of ours can easily tell from the product that it cannot be true. When Shop X realises our customer sees through their ploy, they quickly informed them Mazzario is no longer in business.
We are now at The Centrepoint #02-25 ( opp M&S Cafe ) and Far East Plaza #03-41A ( near the exit of the cluster of many small shops )
Please beware of such imposter, and inform your friends who ask you about your Mazzario cheongsam.
Petals Cheongsam
This cheongsam is front slitted to provide opportunity for the lace petals to run through the dress, visually guiding the eyes on the body, introducing curves where needed. All the petals were hand stitched. They run up the slit, and from twills around framing the mid backback.
Customer have mixed opinions about the cheongsam, some says traditional and modern in one, some say romantic, and a young customers says gothic. Tell us what you think.
We are at The Centrepoint #02-25
Posting photos of our new Centrepoint shop because many of you our regular customers been sending feedbacks that you get lost.
We are right next to the Kaplan link bridge, directly opposite Marks parking is available both at the Centrepoint and Starhub Centre. Starhub is cheaper, and nearer to walk to our shop.
But on weekends, or those crazy Robinsons sale days, I recommend parking at Cenretpoint Carpark as the Starhub Exit may get choked. During the last Robinson sale on a Sunday, I was stuck at the carpark for 45mins :(
You should recognise our partition with your pretty pix!

Cheongsam Ready Legs
Our cheongsams comes in many shapes and sizes, but none more popular than our bareback halter minis. We heard a bride's mom suggesting the daughter wears our mini with skin coloured stockings to disguise the blemishes on her long but pale legs.
We hope she did not catch up secretly frowning at the idea. We suggest light body make-up instead. If you dont have time for a tan or pilates, we suggest you try
Nuxe Multi-Usage Dry Oil (also recommended by Andy Lee) or Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs instead. Why not use it on your arms and back too, no harm spotting leaner arms and back on your big day.

Jade Cheongsam
This full length cheongsam was designed for an almost-open brief.
No requirements, no preference, no idea.
The client wanted something that people will recognise as a Chinese cheongsam, or qipao, but without the traditional feel at all. She used to dance. We carved out the back to show off her nice bone structure, and shimmering in the colour of her only key word -- jade.
The client caught the re-run of " My Best Friend's Wedding" the night before the collection, and asked for some addition. We added beading to the band and the ruched bodice area, the result is more shimmering than the picture above. Will badger the client to send back the pics for sharing.

The Majesta Opened Collar Cheongsam
Opened Mandarin Collar, sleeveless lace front and back. Designed for customers seeking comfort without loosing the orientalism.
This adapted cheongsam is popular for mother-of-the-bride, who asks for it in other ' auspicious ' colours such as gold and maroon. Don't fret if you're young and have eyes on ' Majesta ', many young ladies love her as a semi formal cheongsam for business dinners.
We made it in 2 version. A tapered bottom, and a mermaid bottom. Available in other colours upon request.

Honey Dress (cheongsam)
A modern cheongsam with a ruched satin bodice, a narrow tapered bottom in metallic Chinese brocade, finished with a soft silk brocade origami belt.
We consider it a day-cheongsam, appropriate for cocktails, power lunch, and any day you want to feel like Chinese fusion.
Update: Now also available in black.

Double Pipe Organza In-Lay Cheongsams
Festive Pom Pom Mini Cheongsam
Finally a cheongsam in 2 way stretch knit, it is the most comfortable ( even more so than our silk chiffon number ) cheongsam we've made. We promise you can eat, dance and go visiting from house to house in this, the pom-poms adorning the hemline adds just enough swing to all the moves you make in this cheongsam.
Married with this same design, the 3 colours available each speaks a different tone. Red is festive, white innocent, and this in black to us... is just quite an irony :P . But who wants to be conventional anyway?
Lace Cut-Out Cheongsam
The big cut-out on the toga cheongsam accentuates the curves, making it a more 'ideal' shape for the traditional Chinese dress. The cheongsam is fully trimmed in silver piping, introducing structure to to heavy full length dress. Thechest and cut-out areas are partially trimmed with lace to soften the the strong and structured metallic look.
The asymmetrical back gently frames the scapula, exuding understated sexiness. Everyone looks taller in this.

Playing Favorites
Many of you may be familiar with our all-time favorite washable silk cheongsams. Due to popular demand, we are introducing 2 new designs.
First in the list a long sleeved mini. The high slit can be adjusted with the loop and button closure at the sides. This dress can be worn as a mini dress or a tunic blouse with the buttons unfastened. This is a full length long sleeve that provides more coverage for use in colder weather, and even retro themed parties.
Second, a longer capsleeve dress. This is knee length for the average height,
In both printed and plain designs.

Silk Chiffon Mini
The silk chiffon mini is a result of our quest to change mindsets. Cheongsam is commonly known as the most unforgiving and thus uncomfortable apparel.
This special piece is made in printed silk chiffon, and fully lined in plain silk chiffon. Despite the softness, the skilful double piping tecnique provides structure for the intended hour-glass shape. The combination produces the softest and coolest ( in every sense of the word )cheongsam ever.
Limited edition. No back-order or make-to-order for this design. We apologise for any disappointment caused.
